When Travel Client Leads Dry Up, Try This

It Might Be Time for a Network Check

Remember pre-2020 life when we actually left the house, went to book club, volunteered at school events, or—gasp—met new people in person? Good times. And great times for building connections and growing a business.

If you’re like me, the last five years have brought a lot more couch time and Netflix, and a lot less in-person interaction. Comfort has taken over, and while it’s been cozy and cheaper than eating out every weekend, it hasn’t exactly done wonders for business development.

Your Network Is More Powerful Than You Think

Every time I do get out and socialize, I’m reminded how life-giving those moments are. They’re inspiring, fun, and honestly, good for the soul. They’re also good for business. Because at some point during any gathering, whether it’s coffee with a friend or a school fundraiser, someone’s going to ask:
👉 “How’s work?”
👉 “Still doing the Disney planning thing?”
👉 “We’ve been thinking about going to Universal…”

And just like that, you’re in a conversation that could lead to a new client.

Friends, family, neighbors, former coworkers, parents in the pickup line—they’re all part of your personal network. And if your leads feel like they’ve dried up like Mickey pretzel, it might be time to check the pulse on that network.

Reconnect, Rebuild, Repeat

Here’s the truth: professional Disney travel planning is a sales job. But that doesn’t mean it has to feel transactional or awkward. Ask yourself:
– Have I pulled away from any social circles that I could reconnect with?
– Is there a community event or volunteer opportunity I’ve been ignoring?
– Could I simply say yes to the next invite instead of defaulting to the couch?

Putting yourself in real-life conversations, whether it’s a PTA event, a church function, or a neighborhood potluck, is where trust is built. That trust is the best sales funnel you’ll ever have.

And for my fellow introverts, I see you. 😅 But sometimes just one small step into a social space opens the door to something meaningful…maybe even magical.

Let’s Get Real: One Action Step

Digital marketing, AI tools, and social media are all useful. But there’s a reason deals still get made on golf courses and over school event snack tables…personal connection still wins.

👉 So here’s your challenge:
What’s one way you can expand your personal network this week?
Is there a get-together you’ve been dodging? A sign-up form you’ve scrolled past? Take one small step toward it and watch what happens.

I’d love for you to share your idea in the comments. You never know who you might inspire just by speaking up. 💛
