Disneyland Dining Made Easy

Jun 08, 2022

Walk to the exit. Leave the park. Hike to the bus stop. Wait for a bus. Ride to Disney Springs. Find your restaurant. Whew, if you are a Walt Disney World regular, you know it’s kind of a pain in the rear to leave the park to eat at Disney Springs! This is one (of many areas) where Disneyland has a leg up on Walt Disney World! Disneyland, California Adventure Park, and Downtown Disney (Disneyland’s version of Disney Springs) are basically within a football field’s length away from each other, so leaving the parks to dine is as easy as it gets. Our preference is to take a lunch break at Downtown Disney; it gives us a chance to rest our feet, relax in the A/C, and fuel up for several more hours in the parks!

Downtown Disney has something for pretty much everyone. If you are looking for a yummy snack, look no further than Sprinkles for cupcakes, Salt and Straw for ice cream, and my husband’s favorite: Jamba for smoothies. If you need a quick meal, give Black...

We Need To Talk About That Other Park

Jun 04, 2022

In Disney groups, it can be a pretty taboo topic to bring up that other park. For some reason, somewhere along the line it's ended up feeling like asking two girls to the prom when you mention actually enjoying BOTH Disney and...Universal. (Gasp! She said it!) I'm here to make it weird because...as a Disney gal, an avid Disney fan, Disney traveler and Travel Agent, I DO actually really love them both. Orlando truly CAN be a two horse town, who knew?! I'm here with five reasons why Universal should no longer be an afterthought vacation destination and maybe, should even get top billing every once in awhile.

Reason #5: It appeals to "big" kids

I know, I know...not that Disney doesn't, as Disney fans we argue that point all the time, that Disney is magical for guests of all ages, and it's true. Although Universal does have a good amount of attractions for the under 40 inch crowd, they have ACTUAL, true THRILL rides. I am a big fan of Hollywood Studios Rock 'n' Roller...

Hi, Can I Look at Your Pins?

Jun 04, 2022

Welcome to Pin Trading 101!

If you have made any trips to Walt Disney World since around 2000, you have likely noticed Cast Members and guests wearing lanyards containing pins, pin boards placed around the parks and stores, or kiosks set up with hundreds of pins available to purchase. Welcome to the world of Disney pins and pin trading!  I started collecting Disney pins in 2000 when I was 17 years old.  I was at the age where I was too old for toys or stuffed animals, and I THOUGHT I was too old for Disney clothes (17 year old Brianna should take a look at 39 year old Brianna’s Disney wardrobe!).  That was the trip when I first noticed a few kiosks of pins.  I thought these would make good souvenirs, so I bought my first pins: Maleficent, Sleeping Beauty, Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather.  Can you guess my favorite Disney movie?!  Since that trip in 2000, I have collected over 400 pins, and they are proudly displayed in shadow boxes that I look at...

Sail Away With Me on DCL

May 04, 2022

“Come sail away…Come sail away…Come sail away with meeee.” I knew I loved cruising since my first cruise back in 2007. I’ve always been pretty loyal to a *different* cruise line, but had started selling more Disney cruises. That’s when I had the brilliant idea to scrap my plans to spend a week with Harry Potter and the gang at Universal Orlando Resort and book a Disney Cruise Line trip. Did I mention that I did this 4 weeks prior to sailing? And that debarkation day was on my birthday? Rude. And I would be totally alone.solo.party of 1? This will forever go down as one of the most amazing and magical trips EVER!

Solo

Does the idea of a solo vacation, especially a cruise, make you grit your teeth in agony or jump for joy at the possibility? I had done shorter solo trips to Walt Disney World, but never a week-long trip and never a cruise, where there was the potential for a lot of downtime. I was a tiny bit nervous that I would get...
